Chilli Paneer

  • Paneer cubes
  • All purpose flour/Maida
  • Cornflour
  • Rice flour
  • Dark Soya sauce
  • Chilli sauce
  • Tomato ketchup
  • Red food colour(optional)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Red chilli powder
  • Large size onion
  • Capsicum
  • Green chillies
  • Garlic
  • Curry Leaves


Take a bowl add 2 full spoons of all purpose flour (maida) ,2 full spoons cornflour, one tb spoon rice flour (for crispiness),add salt and pepper as required and now add some spoon full dark soya sauce, add a pinch of food colour (optional) to it. Now add water to the mixture(do not make it loose nor so hard. Keep on adding water till it gains it’s perfect consistency. Now add the paneer cubes to the batter (if the paneer cubes are frozen, take a bowl, put the paneer pieces in it and flow some water through them and soak them for 10min. Your paneer pieces will get soft). Set it aside for 15 min for marination. Take a deep frying pan, add oil to it for deep fry. Now the marinated paneer pieces directly goes into the frying pan. Fry them until the pieces becomes brown and fried. Set them aside on kitchen towel to absorb excess oil.

Now it’s the time to add spiciness to it. So we need to prepare sauce for the chilli paneer. Add some oil in a pan. Add roughly chopped garlic to it. Fry the garlic till it becomes golden brown and then add cubed onions and capsicum and slit green chillies. Toss everything well. Then add salt, pepper, red chilli powder, soya sauce, red chilli sauce and tomato ketchup to it. Toss them up and now add water and cornflour mixture to bring it a smooth sauce like consistency. Add fried paneer cubes to the sauce. Coat the paneer pieces well with the sauce.

Add some fresh curry leaves to it and your chilli paneer is ready. Serve hot and enjoy.
